Typhoon Kompasu closes ports and cancel flights in Hong Kong

The cyclone and tropical storm season in China has paralyzed Hong Kong. The island was hit this Wednesday, October 13, by typhoon Kompasu (compass in Japanese). The strong storm left one dead and 21 injured, according to the official Chinese news agency Xinhua, before heading to the Philippines.

Kompasu crossed the South China Sea before reaching the island province of Hainan, in the south of the country, where the tropical storm was lowered with winds of 105 km/h.

An alert issued by the Hong Kong Observatory led ports and airports to halt operations on Tuesday, October 12th. The expectation is to resume this Friday, 15.

Delays in air and sea transport are expected due to the stoppage. The Craft team closely follows the development of the situation and studies alternatives. If in doubt, contact us. We are ready to serve you.
